Ceiling Fan Light Kit
Now that you have installed your new ceiling fan and it looks great but their is one problem, you have very little or no light in the room at all? I personally think that recessed lights centered in the room around the fan look the best. If that is not an option then you can use a ceiling fan light kit and that may be the best way for you because they are very easy to install.
You have to find a light kit that is compatible with your ceiling fan, when you have figured out which light kit to use:
Step 1
Take off the blank cap on the bottom of the fan then you should see a square connection point or a black or sometimes blue wire and a white wire loose inside.
Step 2
Hook that to the square connection point or the two wires to the light kit, the square connectors are color coded and you will only be able to connect them together if the colored sides are matched up and hook the black frome the light kit to the black or blue wire from the fan and both white wires together.
Step 3
Now lift the light kit up into place, it will be a little bit tight but if you have the light kit lined up right w ith the opening and the components that are inside then you should be able to push it up tight with the fan and screw the light kit in.
There are many types of ceiling fan light kits to choose from, here are a few:
- Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan Light
- Hunter Ceiling Fan Light
- Westinghouse Ceiling Fan Light
- Casablanca Ceiling Fan Light
